right around the corner, that's where my baby stays
No matter what she tells you, you must understand: Miss Missyfuss and buttermilk do not get along.
An amazing day was punctuated yesterday by having my cat barf all over the floor. Flavour! I *knew* it was not a wise decision to let her have even a teaspoon’s worth of buttermilk – but seeing that she had survived the car ride from hoolie’s place to our new apartment, I thought it prudent that I make an exception and allow her to eat something not meant for cats. This will not happen again any time soon.
Regardless, yesterday was lovely day.
Despite my waking up with my usual post-injection MS hangover, I was up and running by early afternoon. Lief cleaned and organized the living hell out of our apartment in preparation for visitors (and in order avoid me having a stress attack). I prepared foods to share with a couple special guests.
The apartment, though dusty, is finally looking like a home. There are couches and chairs available to sit on. I can open the fridge without trying to avoid scraping it against a wet-paint project in the middle of the kitchen.
Is everything done? Fuck no.
There are still bedroom closet doors to be sanded and painted, electrical sockets to be rewired, lighting fixtures to be hung, and a great deal of washing and vacuuming to be done. But like I said, there is somewhere to *sit*.
I celebrated last night by ‘watching’ a little Firefly and doing some knitting…. On the couch!!!
As of yesterday, I also have a lovely Adrian Tomine-inspired hairdo, and Miss Andrea also did a cleansing/ house blessing. Our house is starting to smell, look, and *feel* like home.
I will see all of you at the house-swarming party on December 2nd. Be there or be square.
