choke_hold turns 28: a hapir birthdoo in two parts...

on friday, january 27th, i invite you to join me in celebrating my
birth, celebrating food, and celebrating rock and roll.

Part I
7:30pm***
here is the lowdown - i made a reservation for many people to join me
for dinner and drinks at Honey Lounge (see below). we will drink and
eat and talk and laugh and i will get up to use the washroom an
inappropriate number of times. for you picky eaters, adorable vegans,
or humans on a budget, here is the menu to look over:

Part II
9:30pm***
then we meet up with other humans at the Marine Club (see below) to
enjoy the muscial stylings of The Parallels and The Abbott Street
Racket. the show will be $10 or less

if you are going to attend the 7:30pm dinner portion of the evening,
you *must* email me and let me know. i have made a reservation for 20
people - and i need to confirm it with them later on this week. so
please let me know as soon as you know, you know?

there is some chance that this will turn into a 3 part jamberoo if
people want to go dancing after the rock and roll show - but i am old,
so i am not promising anything.

i sure love you guys and i hope to get birthdoo bumps from all of you.

HONEY LOUNGE

455 Abbott Street, 604-685-7777

www.markjamesgroup.com/restbrew/honey/flash.html/

Swanky chandeliers, gold-filigreed pillars, and red-velvet booths make
the über-hip Honey as regal-looking a place for martinis as you'll
find in Vancouver. Vespa owners descend on Fridays for the maximum–R &
B Mod Club, with Liberty Beats providing a chilled-out backdrop on
Saturdays.

MARINE CLUB

573 Homer Street, 604-683-1720

A nautical-themed Everyman's bar, the Marine Club is a dream come true
for people who value authenticity over artifice and character over
convenience. Except for the addition of a smoking room, the good old
MC, which hosts bands on weekends, hasn't changed much over the years.
And we wouldn't have it any other way.
